Paper Abstract:
|
The main goal of this paper is the analysis of relations between usability of the tested system and its evaluation made by respondents from the target group. The system tested in the experiment, called Face Controller, is designed to operate the computer by head movements and facial expressions and it is dedicated to users with severe disabilities (i.e. spinal cord damages, tetraplegia). The users effectiveness was measured by number of tasks done, and their satisfaction by ISO 9241-9 Device Assessment Questionnaire. To find the sources of discrepancy between the effectiveness achieved by the subjects (average level) and satisfaction (very high), the analysis of free answers categorized by three competent judges was done. Probably asymmetry of attribution of failure and success leads to conclusion that the failure or difficulty in using the system is attributed by disabled users rather internally (efficiency shortage), while success - externally. |
